There are many factors that can lead to an asthma attack, but strenuous activity is one of the most under-diagnosed causes. Fortunately, Dr. Oksana Senyk offers comprehensive care for exercise-triggered asthma. Depending on your needs, we can prescribe oral or inhaled medications to reduce your risk for an asthma attack. Dr. Oksana can also provide guidelines for building up your stamina.

If you experience shortness of breath or fatigue when exercising, Dr. Oksana may recommend a cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET). During this test, we will evaluate heart rate, blood pressure, and overall pulmonary function. In addition, a CPET will also record breathing patterns and measure oxygen absorption levels. For athletes, the test can provide objective parameters of performance enhancement. This test can help Dr. Oksana diagnose heart failure, circulation disorders, and other concerns in order to determine the best course of treatment.

Dr. Oksana offers diagnosis and treatment for a range of different pulmonary issues. Common disorders can include chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and emphysema. Dr. Oksana can also address more rare conditions, such as interstitial lung disease (e.g. pulmonary fibrosis). Through her complete care, you may be able to return to a broad range of activities.
